News Flash! 40 million Credit Cards Compromised A few weeks ago, a recent mass compromise of potentially 40 million payment cards hit the media. MasterCard has published information about this breach. Read more here... There is additional concern that customers will see an increase in Spam emails as cyber criminals try to take advantage of customer fear. They will attempt to capitalize on the well-publicized incident with fraudulent emails trying to get individuals to divulge personal information thinking they are actually protecting themselves. This has already begun to occur! First Citizens National Bank will never contact a credit card or debit card customer and ask for account information through email or the telephone. If you are contacted, do not supply any personal account information. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact First Citizens at any of its locations and discuss your concerns with your personal banker. The best practice is to always be cautious about giving out account information or personal information such as your social security number or PIN information. Always call to confirm that any such request is legitimate and don't give any information until you are absolutely certain that the request is genuine!
