Board Announces Promotions and Retirements - February 27, 2004

The Board of Directors of First Citizens National Bank announced the following promotions at the annual meeting held on February 27, 2004.

Cathy Rottinghaus was promoted to the position of Community President at the Charles City office effective June 1, 2004. She joined First Citizens in 1985 and has held numerous positions with the bank. Most recently, she was Vice President of Retail Banking in the Charles City Region. Rottinghaus is a graduate of Iowa State University in 1985 with a BA in Business Administration. She also has attended the Iowa School of Banking and the Graduate School of Retail Banking. Rottinghaus and her husband Clair have 4 children, Ryan, Alecia, Keith and John and are very active in their children’s school activities as well as with the Immaculate Conception Church. Rottinghaus is involved in numerous community activities. She is the Secretary/Treasurer of the TLC: The Learning Center, a Rotarian and involved with a variety of other community committees. In 2002, Rottinghaus was named Woman of the Year by the Charles City Chamber of Commerce and was chosen as one of North Iowa’s 30 under 40 leaders by the Globe Gazette.

Rottinghaus replaces Colin Robinson who has announced his plans for retirement effective May 31, 2004, after 31 ½ years of service. Robinson has served as President of the Charles City bank since 1985. Although he plans to retire from the day-to-day activities of the bank, Robinson will continue to serve on the bank’s Community Advisory Board and the Charitable Foundation Board of Directors. He also plans to remain actively involved in the community in numerous positions. Robinson also serves as vice chair of the NIACC Board of Trustees and a member of the NIACC Foundation Board of Directors.

John J. Molitor was promoted to the position of Community President of First Citizens National Bank’s Osage Office effective June 1, 2004. Molitor joined First Citizens in 2000 bringing over 18 years in banking specializing in commercial and agricultural lending. He graduated from Iowa State University with a BS degree in Finance in 1985. Molitor is President of the Osage Community Daycare Board, Treasurer of the Osage Development Corporation Board and a member of the Sacred Heart Parish Council. He is married to Kelley, a Social Studies teacher at Osage Middle School and they have 4 children, Jennifer, Tyler, Trevor and Tanner.

Molitor replaces Gordon L. Anderson who has announced his plans for retirement effective May 31, 2004, after over 32 years with the bank. Anderson has served as President of the Osage bank since 1991 and will remain on the bank’s Community Advisory Board and a Board Member of the First Citizens National Bank Charitable Foundation. He also plans to be actively involved in the community, including continuing to serve as a Trustee of the Osage Municipal Utilities Board of Trustees, Mitchell County Home Health Care Advisory Board, and the Mitchell County Civil Service Board. Anderson and his wife Johanna plan to spend more time traveling and visiting their 2 daughters’ families and 3 grandchildren.

In response to the retirement announcements of Robinson and Anderson, O. J. Tomson, Chairman of First Citizens National Bank, noted, “We deeply appreciate both of these men’s leadership, dedication and loyalty to the bank and to their communities over the past 31 years and wish them both well in their retirement. They will both be missed.”
