Rodamaker Teaches Course at Graduate School of Banking in
Colorado
(Mason City, Iowa)- Marti Rodamaker, President of First
Citizens National Bank, recently returned from teaching two course sessions at
the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, Colorado. Rodamaker taught a course
titled “Managing & Working with Family-Owned Banks.”
Over 400 students from three levels of coursework attend
the Graduate School of Banking. “This course is important for many community
bankers,” said Rodamaker. “First Citizens is a family owned company, and I felt
I could shed some light on the way a family-owned bank does business, and teach
students to appreciate the special dynamics of this type of bank.”
The curriculum of “Managing & Working with Family-Owned
Banks” included how to better understand the bank’s organizational culture,
learn how decisions are made, how they address personnel issues, and to learn
more about the unique financial issues, including financial objectives,
performance compensation programs, the impact of family estate planning and the
bank’s responsibility to the community.
The mission of the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado
is to assist financial services executives in advancing their careers and their
organization’s performance through education, training, management skill
development and information.
