First Citizens in Mora Celebrates 100 Year Anniversary


First Citizens Bank in Mora, MN recently celebrated its 100th year anniversary and was presented with a U.S. flag and case.

The bank’s current story began in 1973 when O. Jay Tomson, purchased controlling interest in Kanabec State Bank in Mora. In December 1994, Tomson announced a corporate merger of four subsidiary banks. In 2014, Kanabec State Bank merged into First Citizens National Bank, and in 2016, First Citizens National Bank changed its name to First Citizens Bank.

Independent Community Bankers of Minnesota began awarding U.S. flags to member banks to mark milestone anniversaries. The flag cases are built by veterans at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Hastings, MN.
