First Citizens Charitable Foundation

The First Citizens Charitable Foundation was organized for distribution of funds to charitable, religious, educational and health care institutions in North Iowa and Minnesota.

PLEASE NOTE: We accept requests only from the counties that First Citizens Bank serves which are: Worth, Mitchell, Howard, Hancock, Cerro Gordo, Floyd, Chickasaw, Wright, Franklin, and Butler in Iowa and Mille Lacs, Kanabec, Pine, and Isanti in Minnesota.

The First Citizens Charitable Foundation is a corporation established under the Iowa Non-Profit Corporation Act under Chapter 504 (A) of the Code of Iowa (1995), and commenced existence on December 17, 1995. The Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954.

The application deadlines are June 1 and November 15. The board meets to consider requests in June and December.

Since 1995 over 4.5 million has been donated to our North Iowa and Minnesota Communities.
